American Indian Education took a trip to Alexandria Technical and Community College on Tuesday. Students from the High School and ALC had a tour of the campus and learned extensively about a variety of programs including mechatronics (robotics), beginning and advanced welding, healthcare fields, carpentry, the law enforcement program, and more! It was a busy day that also included a financial aid session where students learned more about the options available to help pay for college and other unique opportunities currently available to students.
A big thank you to ATCC for the great experience for our students and for the pizza lunch!
The students are recognizing and celebrating each other's positive character traits. By highlighting these strengths, they're building confidence, enhancing resumes, and sharpening interview skills.
Students from DLHS & DLALC went to the North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton. The morning consisted of a campus tour where they learned about the many programs they offer. In the afternoon, they attended a career fair with over 200 booths! Students played a bingo game while they visited booths and learned more about companies that employ NDSCS graduates. It was fun to see the students step out of their comfort zone and interact with professionals.
A big THANK YOU to our community volunteers and Mid Minnesota Credit Union for making MAD City Money a success! ALC students gained valuable insights into budgeting during this interactive experience. Many discovered how easy it is to overspend.
