Students from the HS and ALC visited Concordia and MSUM colleges this week. They listened to presentations, asked great questions to the student ambassador panels, had tours of the campuses in the blustery weather, and then ate a delicious complimentary lunch in the main dining hall cafeterias. They also were able to see a former DLHS grad, now a Senior at Concordia. This was a great experience for students and staff!
On Monday, our cultural liaison, Mike Swan, shared about native dwellings at the ALC. This is a fun project students at the ALC and HS do each year in December instead of the traditional gingerbread houses. Mike shared photos showing the types of homes many Indigenous people lived in, including pictures of the house he grew up in and his grandmother's house. This information will be helpful as students start their own native dwellings next week. Miigwech Mike!
No turkeys? No problem! ALC students and staff had fun bowling together before the break!
The ALC students engaged in an insightful session about career opportunities within the military, as well as potential career paths after enlistment. Understanding all options is important for making informed career choices.
